A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to non-existent email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of spam, but this problem can be fixed by using anti-spam protection software. It is also essential to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot redirect incoming emails to a 3rd-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting
If you have a shared website hosting with our company and you want to enable the catch-all functionality for a given email mailbox that you’ve got in your account, it will take literally just a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in the account. You can select one address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all emails sent to mistyped email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
You will be able to set up a catch-all email address with no more than a click in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated server with us and your emails are handled by our cloud web hosting platform. All the email addresses that you set up using any domain name hosted in your account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. Each of them will have a tiny "Catch-all" icon next to it, so all it will take to activate the feature will be to click on that icon. In the same manner you will be able to deactivate the feature, in case you no longer need it. Our system will notify you in case you’re trying to activate a 2nd catch-all mailbox for a particular domain or if there is enabled email forwarding, but it will never deactivate or alter anything automatically and without your consent.
