Every domain name that's registered and hosted has a great deal of DNS records - some of them are set up automatically when you host a domain, others can be set up by hand if needed. As an example, the A record of a domain is its IP address i.e. this record reveals where the web site is located; the MX records reveal where the emails are stored, while with an SRV record you can use a domain for unconventional purposes, including a Voice-over-IP service. Being able to set up and modify certain records allows you to have different services with different providers if, for instance, your present host provides good web hosting, but has problems with the email service, or you simply prefer to get a certain service from a particular company. Although you can create and modify these records freely and with no limits as you own a given domain address, a lot of companies charge extra to give you this option.

Full DNS Management in Semi-dedicated Servers
The Linux semi-dedicated servers are handled via our in-house designed Hepsia hosting CP and one of its features is an easy-to-use DNS records tool where you can see all existing records for every domain name or subdomain that you host within the account. With just a couple of mouse clicks you will be able to modify any existing record or you can create a new one if you need it for any purpose. This will permit you to choose the provider for each individual service - as an example, for a given domain you can have the site here, the e-mails through a second company and a VOIP service that employs the same Internet domain as a host through a third one. Our system allows you to change or set up any kind of records you need - NS, A, MX, CNAME, TXT, SRV, AAAA, etc., and we'll never ask for any fee to be able to access and manage these records as other companies may do.
